CEZ Group will not continue the Electrocentrale Galati project
After almost two years of analyzing and discussing the project, CEZ Group announce to not move on with the Galati power plant project.
This decision was based on several technical parameters and also on some strong financial aspects.
During this almost two years, CEZ Group performed the Pre-feasibility Study for building a new 400 MW CCGT on the location of CET Galati, an island within the yard of the Arcelor Mittal.
The Pre-feasibility study showed that the project can`t be build, subject to additional important and unexpected costs related to the grid and gas corridors and also removal of some of the assets owned currently by CET Galati.
Due to this crucial factors, CEZ Group decided to concentrate its financial resources to the rest of business in process: the 600 MW wind park developed in Fantanele & Cogealac and its participation in EnergoNuclear - the company that will build the 3&4 Units in Cernavoda nuclear power plant.
